Basic Introduction Of Thermal Spray Powder

Metals, alloys and composite powders commonly used in thermal spray hardfacing techniques. The thermal spraying (welding) method using an oxygen-acetylene flame, a plasma flame, or an oxygen-acetylene flame, etc., causes these characteristic powders to be instantaneously heated and, in a molten or semi-molten state, are sprayed and deposited on a cold or high-speed heat flow. A surface strengthening layer is formed on the surface of the hot workpiece to achieve the purpose of improving the wear resistance, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, oxidation resistance, or repairing the external dimensions of the workpiece surface. This is an economical, practical and efficient process technology that has been widely used.

Brief History Thermal spray technology first originated in 1910, and was first sprayed by Dr. M V Schoop of Switzerland with an oxygen-acetylene flame spray gun. In the forties and fifties, with the advent of new spraying equipment, the spraying material also gradually developed from metal wire to metal powder, and in particular, the application of atomized pre-alloyed powders and coated composite powders was more extensive and successful.
