Characteristics of HVOF thermal spray technology

Using supersonic flame spraying technology were prepared respectively WC_12Co, Cr3C2-25NiCr carbide metal ceramic coatings, the determination of the coating porosity, microhardness and abrasive wear mass loss in the process of coating, coating wear mass loss and coating types are discussed and the relationship between the structure, using scanning electron microscopy (sem) on the coating wear surface morphology observation, analyzes the failure mechanism of abrasive wear of the coating.The results showed that the prepared cr3c2-25nicr and wc-12co coating had compact tissue and porosity of 1 respectively.36 percent and 2.The microhardness of the coating is 822HV and 1132HV respectively. The wear loss of the coating is linear with the wear distance. The wear loss of the cr3c2-25nicr coating is about 3 times that of the wc-12co coating.Furrow cutting is the main feature of coating abrasive wear in the early stage, while fracture and spalling of carbide particles are the main reasons of coating wear in the later stage.

The preparation is simple.It only needs to set spraying parameters by adjusting the knob once, and there is no need to repeat setting when spraying in the future, which provides conditions for rapid maintenance, saves time, reduces stopping time in the remanufacturing process and reduces the cost of remanufacturing

4. High safety.Arc spraying technology only USES electricity and compressed air, does not need oxygen and acetylene etc flammable gas, high safety.

Low costs.Arc spraying is a very economical method of thermal spraying. Its energy efficiency is very high, and the price of electricity is far lower than that of oxygen and acetylene. Its cost is usually only 1/10 of that of flame spraying.The cost of anti-corrosion coating prepared by arc spraying technology is greatly reduced.

6. High quality of coating.High-speed arc spraying technology improves the flight speed and atomization quality of molten particles, reduces the porosity of the coating and increases the bonding strength of the coating to the substrate.
